Power converter for Fuel Cells

Since 1998 aixcon has been developing power converters for fuel cells.
The first hydrogen generator was deployed in 2010.

aixcon offers current sources and current sinks for fuel cell application systems to produce hydrogen,
as well as for heating and decentralized power generation.

The following systems have a power range between
1 kW and 1.500kW:

  • controlled current source for operation on
    single or three-phase AC systems
    with galvanically isolated power output
  • controlled current source for operation on DC
    systems with galvanically isolated power output
  • controlled current sink for use with
    energy storage or isolated networks
    with galvanically isolated power input
  • controlled current sink for operation on
    the power distribution grid with
    galvanically isolated power input

modular system

The system uses a modular design.
The picture shows a modular step-up-converter system.

Input: 12 fuel cell stacks (max. 90V / 3kW)
Output: 12 x 500VDC (galvanically isolated)

The outputs are connected to commercially available inverters to generate single or three phase AC-power.
